マニラ公演を終えて、CCPプレジデントのDr.スニコ氏より、ニッポニカ宛てに『フィリピンの芸術論集』と題する1冊の書物をいただきました。それはCCP発行の厚さ4センチ、重さ2キロくらいある大部の書物で、フィリピンの建築、演劇、音楽、文学、映画、舞踊、視覚芸術に関する論文集でした。
音楽のところを開くと、"Indigenous music（土着の音楽）""The Spanish colonial period（スペイン統治時代）""The American colonial period（アメリカ統治時代）"という章立てで、50ページ近くに渡って音楽史が綴られていました。写真の右ページ中央の男性が吹いているは、"Indigenous music"の最初に掲載されていた「鼻笛」。今回の公演で演奏した作曲家も後のページに登場していました。
